Audio sync issue when encoding svcd from huffy as opposed to raw
Hello all,
I was hoping someone has come across this problem, cause I sure am at a loss. I have tried some suggestions in the forum to no avail.
The problem is like this, If I capture with my tv capture card straight to raw avi the audio is synced with the video and when I encode this capture through tmpgenc, as an SVCD, it is still synced.
However, when I capture to AVI using the Huffy codec the AVI is still in audio sync but once I put it through tmpgenc the audio becomes way off.
I have tried making a wave file and using that as the audio source and still have major sync issues.
Also, last but not least, If I take this Huffy encoded AVI and just open in it in virtualdub and just simply resave it (Nothing Fancy) then encode it, the sync issue is gone.

Answer here turned out to be more horsepower.
Went from 950 duron to 1.5ghz athlon. Now able to do Huffy at median level with RGB.
Thanks anyway

Have you just tried capturing to uncompressed source and then running it through TMPGEnc?
Its a great program and SHOULD have been able to handle your situation.
Just a thought,

Yeah I did and that worked fine except I had to use yu2 instead of rgb
not enough hard drive space. It turned out that the processor wasn't fast enough to do the huffy compression at such a high level with RGB
Thanks though
Well a HDD problem should be solvable by you.
Once you've done that, capture to RGB.
