2-Pass encode, only Motion Estimate once...
I think this was supposed to be done by the quot;Hinted MEquot; portion of XVID. Which I believe is gravely broken?
But in any case, wouldn't it be a huge benefit in speed to only calculate the motion vectors once, save them in a temporary file and use them for the second pass?
Motion Search can be a very heavy process and saving it on the second pass would mean a big speed boost. Any chance of seeing something like that happening soon?
Yes, that's what the DivX team thought too, until they realised that it didn't work... So if you look in v5.02 or 5.03 you will find that feature, but it has been removed in later versions. Read this STICKY! |
