how to make two versions of one movie?
Hi,
I've got the quot;Blues Brothersquot; here, it's a version with additional scenes in it.
But these scenes are in English so always when I watch the movie in german there are some scenes where the language changes to English, what I don't want.
So I thought of making a DVD, where I can choose between two versions a quot;Germanquot; one and an quot;English extended one.
My question's now how you would proceed.
At first I thought of maybe either splitting by cell id with dif4u and then cut out the scenes I don't want or cut out the scenes with VDubMod if that would be possible. Or are there better ways of doing this? Because I don't want to mess around if there would be easier ways..
The second question is if I could set the shorter version in Scenarist and then quot;paste inquot; the english scenes of the extended version
when I choose that in the menu. But how would the Structure look like then? Or would I have to make two films? I don't think so or am I wrong?..
I hope someone can help me a little bit..
I guess that seamless branching should be solution for you. Make two version of your movie: german and english. I guess that both versions use the same video (english something more, of course). So quot;dividequot; your german version into VOBIDs or CELLs, put them into both version and add english clips into english version.
Your structure should look like this:
PGC 1 (german version)
Chapter 1 cell 1.1 -gt; cell 1.2
Chapter 2 cell 1.3 -gt; ...
PGC 2 (english version)
Chapter 1 cell 1.1 -gt; cell 2.1 (english clip) -gt; cell 1.2
Chapter 2 cell 1.3 -gt; ...
Add audio and subtitles for each VOBId or CELL, make simple menu with two buttons (normal and extended version) and compile. It shouldn´t be so difficult .
Alright, then I was on the right track.. ;-)
Thanks alot!
..shit, cell-id splitting's not enough, I'll have to cut out the scenes manually, this will make it much harder.. |
