msi+p4 freezes and blue screen problems ...

hi,
I hope someone has a hint for some really persistent problems:
- system freezes (sound continues)
- blue screen: 'IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL' and 'beginning dump of physical memory'
- harddisk turning off and on (if i'm lucky) under windows or still while reading bios
- scambled screen: color errors like noise, lines stick to the screen, icons get goofy and more undefinable stuff.

It occurs when:
- while starting explorer, media player, tv-app, I/O-operation or playing dvd etc.

What I've tried:
- CPU core 1.5 -gt; 1.6 Volt doesn't change a thing
- disconnecting all devices (to check power supply) except harddisk and videocard doesn't change
- disabling RAID doesn't change
- extra cooling (hdd/chipset/chassis) doesn't change
- other detonator drivers for geforce4 doesn't change
- it doesn't matter if the system is hot or completely cooled down

I don't play videogames.  Is it possible that my DDR module is broken or bad quality?  Or the videocard?  The strange thing is that i can encode mpeg2 or divx for a day without extra cooling and everything goes well, until i start using another application alongside: then it immediately freezes or shows the blue screen (beginning dump of physical memory).  I'm getting kind of desperate, as i have tried almost all bios settings for stabilizing the system and it keeps locking up.  I have read threads about people with similar problems, but still can't find the appropriate answer.  Thanks for any information!

- clean windows 2000 (sp3) or xp (sp1) installed (with or w/o virusscan, on- and offline)
- 200 W power supply
- pixelview tv-card (Bt878a conexant fusion)
- MSI mainboard 845PE-max2 (MS-6704-FIR) with LAN, 5.1, firewire, RAID, bluetooth.
- p4-2400 (533 FSB)
- 512 DDR (266 MHz)
- 120 GB maxtor 2MB (7200 rpm)
- 80 GB western digital 8 MB (7200 rpm)
- xfx geforce4mx440-se 64 MB with tv-out (detonator 29.42 or 41.09)

Well pretty much every computer part might cause such a mess (not to mention bad drivers) but in your case I think that you should throw your power supply out of the window ASAP,besides imo system like yours requires at least 300WT power unit.

hahaha.  Yeah, well, you know, when i was finished writing the post i realized it would have 2 b the power supply.  Thanks anyway!  I'll post the solution.
