DoCCE4U and Languages

I've found something that is causing problems for the users of DoCCE4U that have operating systems which use languages other than English.  CCE uses common dialog controls, which are a part of the windows operating system, and not CCE.  So even if your version of CCE displays english language menu and button text, when it opens a file dialog (such as the one to load an ecl file), it displays the text on the dialog in the language native to the locale.  DoCCE4U is looking for a window with the title quot;Openquot; that belongs to the main CCE Window.

If your windows version is in a language other than English or Spanish, please open CCE, then try to load an ecl file and post here what the text is in the title bar of the quot;Openquot; dialog, and also what the text is on the quot;Openquot; button.  For the open button, I need to know the placement of the _ when you hit the alt button.

Thanks in advance.

i have a danish w2k and here it says quot;åbnquot; when you open the filedialog and wanna load a .ecl file

as for the text on teh buttons i dont get any test when i have the mouse over the button, when i hit ALT the placement of _ is under F in file and O in open, seems those menus is normal for english

hope this helps.

Hi ,

the german version of Windows use 'Öffnen' as Windowstitle and Button-name. The ALT Key is 'f'.

Thanks for great work.Hawke

In the next version, on the settings dialog box is a text box for people to add the text that appears on the open button.  This way it should work for everyone no matter what their language.

Hi ,

I think that is the best way. Hopefully you release the next version
with this feature in nearly future  Sincerely
Hawke

Sorry!
I've downloaded DoCCE4U version 1.0.0.8, but it cannot solve the problem.
When I try to start the encoding, CCE open, the window for the *.ecl opens but it can't load the *.ecl file. DoCCE4U says:

ERROR: Could not locate CCE File Open dialog
ERROR: Could not load ECL file into CCE

About the 'Open dialog quot;Openquot; Button Text' setting... I can't understand what I must write in.
When I try to load manually an ECL file, on the title bar and in the quot;Openquot; button the text is quot;Apriquot; (italian OS).
I try to write quot;amp;Apriquot; in the 'Open dialog quot;Openquot; Button text'
Can you help me, please?

In the change log I put that there is no need to include the amp; for the underscore.  Since I can't ensure where it's going to be, it's just a better idea to strip it out of the text before comparison.  If the Italian for 'Open' is 'Apri', then just type 'Apri' in the box on the settings dialog.

I've encounterd the same problem as Calabuig. I'm using an english XP version and version 1.0.0.8 of DoCCE4U

By pure luck I've found a workaround fort this problem:
1) Startup DoCCE4U
2) Go to the settings window and replace quot;amp;Openquot; by quot;Openquot;
3) Apply the new settings
4) Close DoCCE4U
5) Start DoCCE4U
6) Go to the settings window and replace quot;Openquot; by quot;amp;Openquot;
7) Apply the new settings
8) Press the start button

I have no idea why this strange workaround works but it works (at least for me)!

For me, it works!
I replace quot;amp;Openquot; with quot;Apriquot; and now it's all OK!
Thanks, BBWoof!!!!!!!!!!

P.s. I have an another problem, but I want to be sure that it's not my fault. Then I'll write a new post for you, BBWoof...

BBWoof,

Now I know why DoCCE4U in my PC does have the same problem, which has Japanese W2K. And hope it would be fixed soon.

..and mind the capitalization/ use of small letters. I couldn't get DoCCE4U working for me until I wrote the first letter as capital -as it was in the open-dialog.

I have WindowsXp Pro (Italian version) and it worked out with quot;Apriquot;.
The underscore is on the quot;Aquot; so you have to press ALT+A to open the selected file.

Today I played a bit around with DoCCE4U and this language issue.

I have german Win2K and so the File Open Dialogue is labeled with quot;Öffnenquot;.

When I put this into the setting of DoCCE4U it won't work.

It works with a little quot;trickquot;: you have to write the letter quot;Öquot; like in HTML Code (O + amp; + uml; + other letters). Surely without all the quot;+quot;. Just did this, so that it's displayed correct and not interpreted by the board software,

But there's something I don't understand: I tested this by using small clips and it works, but when I add another job with an AVS Script from another folder, it doesn't work anymore (?)

CCE quot;hangsquot; within the File Open Dialogue and nothing happens furthermore.

I have version 1.0.1.0.

I'm kinda running out of ideas with this File Open Dialogue Setting.

Sometimes it's working, sometimes not, no matter what I set in. It even worked once by leaving the setting blank in DoCCE4U.

But this also worked out once and then nevermore...

Can't find a quot;systemquot; behind this, to tell quot;ok, when I'm doing this  it works and when I'm doing that it won't workquot;...

Help from other german Win2K Users or from BBWoof would be much appreciated

Hi there,

it's me again

Somehow I got it working now....i deinstalled and reinstalled DoCCE4U 1.0.1.0.

The only thing I did different was that I installed it to the directory the install routine proposes. Last installation I used another folder.

Right after installing I put in the setting for the german File Open Dialogue (Öffnen) and it works. I tried several AVS Scripts from different folders and it worked everytime.

I don't get it why, but however it's working now

Sorry for the delay, I've been sorta busy lately and out of commission part of the time.  I'm told that there is a programming method to get around this language issue, I just haven't figured it out yet (but I will).

I'm glad you got it working.
