B-Frame decoder lag

Hi, I searched the VDM forum here at  without finding any post for my question, so there's my trouble

I use xvid with b-frame as video codec (2 bframe, multiplier 150, offset 100, koepi's build, but this is not related to specific build) and the encoding process ends correctly.
The video plays without any problem, but if I try to open it in VDM (I'm using vers. 1.15.1.1a) I have some problem.

The first frame appear as black screen with quot;Warning: nothing to output lt;crgt;lt;lfgt;B-frame decoder lag.quot; written on the screen.

But there is more...

If I try to snap to KF (eg to find a good cutting point) I noticed that snapping in forward direction shows an imagine different from THE SAME K-frame if I snap in the backward direction...

Furthermore the showed frame IS NOT the frame I espected to see, I realized this opening the .avs file from which the encoded avi was generated.

I don't know if this happens too whit divx and BF, but I'm sure this doesn't happen if I use xvid without BF; I've to try if this happens too using 1 BF instead of more than 1 BF.

Any idea or solution for this?
Tnx in advance.

there is nothing you can do.search in xvid forum, nothing to worry about though

Heh, what do you expect when you hack something into a container format which doesn't support it?

Ok, it's an hack, but i'm surprised that using divx with B-Frame doesn't produce this effect...

Can someone explain why?

It's better to post in xvid forum, I think, isn't it?

Bye.

Sorry, but I don't understand you... what's ds iic?

See ya.

What is interesting: If I change the 4CC Code to DivX5 (I know; never do that...) the message about the decoder lag is gone in Vdub and everything works like a charm (of course if you do not choose any really DivX incompatible stuff).

So shouldn't it be possible that the VfW Part of XviD works without showing this message about the decoder lag (like the DivX Decoder)? I never had any problems when playing via DShow (using Nics Decoder)...

iic=was supposed to be iirc sorry about the typo
iirc=If I remember correctly
Of course it was works if you change the 4cc to divx,As I told you it has to do with directshow.Changing it the 4cc to divx it uses divx's direct show to decode so it hasnt this problem of xvid's direct show.Thats all

Under DShow everything works for me. Only under Vdub, it is not working. So I would say that it is an error in the VfW Part of Xvid and not in the directshow filter.

And the purpose of my last post, was in the last sentence: If the DivX VfW decoder is able to decode it it should be possible that the XviD VfW decoder is able, too. Or to say it in another way: there is a bug in the VfW part of XviD?
