Ok I've read through the forums and I don't think I can find anything that helps me with my problem. Last night I did a test encode and the results were good and bad. While the picture quality was absolutely brilliant for the size the playback was all jumpy, when something was moving fast the frames would stutter fairly badly. My computer is fairly decent (AMD 3100+, 512mb ddr, 256mb Radeon 9600xt etc.) so I don't think that's the problem. Thank you in advance.
What frame size and what average bitrate? Assuming you used all the features of high profile, those two are the biggest perfomance killers. You can either try coreavc, use a smaller resolution, use less references, or turn off cabac (which lowers quality a fair bit but speeds up decode a lot).
624x352 resolution and it was about 1035 for the bitrate. I'm a quality freak so you know I could never drop that.
My encode somehow converted my framerate from pal to 20fps. That was my problem.
Oh, sounds like an extra Decimate() got left in the avisynth. |
