multiple subtitles not showing through

I'm working on Neon Genesis Evangelion and there are some scenes that have two people talking at the same time but the subtitles showing at the bottom is where the problem comes up.

The characters talking show the colors I've selected, but the one in the background (talking) is transparent and doesn't have a solid color to it, you can make out it's outline.

I was curious as to where in the subtitles tab can I set up the second character's or even third character's subtitle color and why does D2S pick a transparent color by default?

I've had this problem with several anime.  Here is a post I made awhile ago: showthread.ph...190#post244190

What I do is let DVD2SVCD do the conversion.  Then rip the subtitles with subrip 1.06 (You need to do this several times changing the color palette and skipping to the problem subs each time.  Save each subrip in a differetn folder, and make sure you use the same filename DVD2SVCD uses, it should be en1 or something.  Subrip will change the name to en100001 and so on.)
Then copy all the quot;correctquot; looking subs into the subs folder DVD2SVCD created.  Make sure not to delete the .sub files DVD2SVCD created, you will still use these and that is why you needed to match filenames.
Then use Winsubmux to remux the subtitles with the mpg, or use dvd2svcd's recover feature and recover from the mux state.

You could also edit the troublesome sub .bmp files in mspaint, just make sure you set the outline color in the subtitle tab of DVD2SVCD to dark gray instead of black or the outline will be lost when you resave from mspaint.
