Help! Pulldown step skipped by AVI2SVCD during NTSC-gt;SVCD!

Hi,

I am trying to convert an avi file (XVID codec) in NTSC format with 23.976 frame rate into SVCD.  Everything runs smoothly, but, for some reason, the pulldown step is skipped, resulting in invalid SVCD file.  Does anyone have any ideas why this would happen?  Any help would be appreciated!  TIA!

and then just run the pulldown on your mpv file by hand.  Rename the file pulldown creates to the original mpv file name and then run crash recovery from the mux state.

Actualy, I can just run recovery from the pulldown step, which is a much more simple solution.  However, I am still interested in why the pulldown was skipped in the first place.  I think that if you restart the DVD2SVCD and run the the entire conversion process again, the pulldown would be picked up, however, I've noticed that if you run a byunch of conversions in succession, if one of the conversions didn't require a pulldown, then for most of the conversions that are executed after it (without restartin DVD2SVCD), the pulldown will be skipped.
