Ok, I got it...thanks! You just can't link to the file directly. Great find!
Here's what's new in 2.3:
Fixed bug in re-author module which occurred in certain DVDs with a strange PGC structure. This bug caused dvd player to freeze or lockup at specific points in the movie.
Added support for 64bit file sizes.
Added support for opening files generated by IFOEdit software.
Fixed bug which caused analysis to crash if input video stream is corrupt.
Attempt to make quot;Remapping VOBSquot; stage more reliable, even if there are errors on original DVD.
Added automatic quot;retryquot; (4 retries) if read from disk fails.
Fixed error in .IFO file output: vtsi_mat_ea, vts_tmapt_ea.
Fixed bug where video could be corrupted in some rare situations (vobu containing more than one sequence header).
Tweaked video encoder module, now slightly faster.
Fixed bug in quot;Still Picturesquot; mode, picture temporal reference is now set correctly, and sequence end code is always written.
Added quot;Total Processing Timequot; information to finish dialog.
Added support in quot referencesquot; for combining titles which overlap or share the same video in the DVD View. This prevents confusion where a compression level applied to one title also affects another, because they share the same video.

Vector offsets as reported by IfoEdit now work correctly! Great job, dvdshrink!!

This definitely does fix any pauses or freezes you may have been experiencing with 2.2 version. I tested Enemy at the Gates at it's 100% fixed. Sweet! Also it has Total Time Processed and % shown in title bar so when you minimize it you know where your at. Awesome work dvdshrink!
edit:
has two dvdshrink guides...the version 2.x is the one you want to read
mpg/dvdshrink2-main.htm
does this program maintain multi angles?

Is about 20% faster than v2.2!!!
1. I see in the newest version you can set it to whether you see combined titles as 1 or 2 tracks when setting the compression level (it's in the preferences). If you seperate them out, you can set compression levels for the title tracks individually, but if they are overlapping titles, does this mean you're actually setting the titles compression individually or what?
For example, Band of Brothers Disc 1, Titles 1 amp; 2 are combined, but if I seperate them out I can set compression for Title 1 to Level 6 and Title 2 to Level 5, however, if I go look at Title 1 I'll see that it's has both it's Level 5 and Level 6 radio buttons highlighted.
2. DVDShrink... what is the secret to your never needing sleep?
Thanks.
if you have titles using the same vobus, then the 2nd selection dictates what the common parts use. So, assume you have title 1 = regular movie and title 2 = directors cut. If you don't care about the directors cut you'd set title 2 to still pictures, then title1 to whatever compression level fits your need. Now only the special parts of titl2 are compressed as still picture stream only, and the common parts are encoded using the compression level set in title 1.
Nice work. I just did quot; The Ringquot;, movie-only - 6728 mb, stripped out everything but English AC3 6-ch audio and subs at level 5. The results are VERY good. Thanks for the gift!
I must be dreaming. It is just getting better and better!
Is there any way to eliminate the audio selection that wasn't included? For example, I got rid of the 2 channel track, but it still maintains the option so when I start the dvd, there's no sound. I have to switch from 2 channel to 6. I know 1.3 eliminated 2 channel completely if I didn't check it.
Fyi, it does multi angles fine.
Yep, very nice indeed!
Just done a full disk backup of Roadkill and the results were great and I love the completion % in the task bar too, maybe I'll have to stop using IC7 now for good.
Can this do complete backups like dvd2one does or will it just backup the film?
Thanks
Yes.
Thanks, I will give DVD Shrink a go then. sounds like it could be very good
So like if you have three audio tracks like this:
1: Main movie 5.1 English
2: Main movie 2.0 Spanish
3: Directors Commentary
and I tell it to remove audio 2, will it really remove it and leave the mapping just as it was?
For example, if you use IfoEdit to do this, the commentary will become #2. So then in the menus to hear the commentary you'd have to select the Spanish track.
It should leave it like this after its stripped out:
1: Main movie 5.1 English
2: lt;empty, stripped outgt;
3: Directors Commentary
If anyone knows how this works with DVDShrink, what would be cool.
