Memorex dvd+r advice philips, like, burning, advice, player

I just thought some of you might like to know. I bought a memorex dvd+r 2.4x2.4x? burner for my second pc. It seems to work fine but the burning speeds are considerably slower than my philips DVDRW228 burner in my other pc. About 20% slower to be exact. ALso the compatibility is not quite as good. I have been burning some dvd's using ritek dvd+r media in my philips burner for some time now. I have a real cheap apex dvd player and every movie but 1 would work fine that I burnt using the Philips. But the dvd's I have burnt using the memorex drive do not work at all. But they do work in all my other players. THat player is just really finicky. So to some it up you might want to reconsider before purchasing this memorex dvd burner. It works fine but is slow and not quite as compatible.
