layer change burn error using ingburn
Hi All,
Im new to dual layer burning and these were my first attempts. 4 coasters so far
Tried creating images with DVDDecryptor, and PGCEdit, also tried to convert dvd files created with DVD Shrink with PGC edit into an ISO. All With the same outcome, seems to burn fine but then there is a i/o error at the layer change when a verify is done
If you watch the burner the light goes out at the layer change for about 30seconds then comes back on and appears to continue burning.
Not sure whether this is something I am doing wrong or if its just simply a problem with the Media. Using Datawrite titanium 2.4 DVD+R DL disks (CMC MAG-D01-00).
Have included some screen shots. Any ideas most welcomed
do the burns work in a standalone? verification can often fail for random reasons (well, i'm sure there's a good reason, but i don't know what it is ).
what drive are you using? CMC discs, though they once had a reputation for being crap, are quite good now.
though a burner shouldn't stop for that long on a layer break.
(hmm, i didn't know CMC were making DL discs. might have to grab hold of some to test them out. i'm still on the ubiquitous verbatims)
I'd say to just give up using CMC and buy Verbatims instead.
If you still get problems after that, it's probably time you upgraded your drive.
The actual process you're following is fine so it's just a hardware / firmware / media issue.
Was kinda hoping it was something I was doing wrong. DL media's not cheap ...
Mug Funky, Im using a lite-on 832s (latest fw). Unfortunately doesnt work on stand alone. Oh well. Taking a look on SVP I presume the ones you mention are the standard 2.4x verbatim Double layer disks???
Thanks for your comments will give them a try.
Yup, just the standard 2.4x double layer Verbatims.
Do take a look around (possibly at cdfreaks) and see what others have achieved with an 832s though. They might just not be any good at double layer burning - full stop!
I don't want to be responsible for you buying something that's still not going to work
Verbatim disks arrived this morning. Burning an old ISO I had and burned first time no problem. |
