dvd quility issue/made for comp only

Hey all how ya doing

I am making a dvd with some anime eps ( be fore you flip they are fansub naturo eps not licenced in good old USA)

I am just woundring if I can put them on the dvd in less quality,  like for example instead of 720x480 have it a lower res, also if that is not posable I want to make a computer only dvd that will have a dvd style menu ( so if I load it in to windows media player it will have a nice full motion menu for it with chapter and title select and maby sub title select ) but have the vids them self be a smaller divx incoded file so I can have them at about 180 to 200 mb per file so I can get like 20 of them on one dvd,   the most important thing here is that I am starting with dvix source and if it is a computer ran only I want to stay in dvix  and be able to still have the nice menu that has maby a looped video in as the bg and also get mini vid clips for the title / chapter selection,  

I know there is a probley a guide that tells about this but I wanna just find out what I can do before I go guide searching / reading    but if these  are posable and there is a guide just tell me and I will looks for it,  just dont wanna look to find nothing,  if not any help would be umm helpfull
