Interlace lines with DVD source?

I have interlace lines in 1.0b3.  Is this because I am doing it from DVD source, because it's from FlaskMPEG, or is it a problem with a codec?

Should I check the deinterlace option in Flask, or select the interlace option in the codec settings, or what?

Deinterlacing has nothing to do with XviD. Use Avisynth, Flask or whatever you like to deinterlace your video.

The 'interlaced'-option in XviD is useful if you want to keep the interlacing as it is!

Apparently it doesn't show up in DivX, so my dad thinks it's an XviD problem.

Never mind, checking quot;deinterlacequot; in FlaskMPEG solved the problem.  Nice improvement in 1.0b3.  With the older versions, DivX and XviD were neck-and-neck.  Now even my dad (DivX nut) admits that quot;dang, that looks betterquot;

dude you should really look into using a more modern encoding suite. FlasK MPEG is pretty outdated, and using VirtualDub/GordianKnot would make things a lot easier (not to mention faster i think).
