CRC Errors laptop, why, sometimes, hardware, burning

I was wondering if someone could tell me how I can reduce CRC errors when burning DivX's to CD?

I have a TDK Cyclone 24x and I'm using CDRWIN to burn the CDs. I use Data Safe Cds.

I always burn at 1X but sometimes I find I still get CRC errors, and sometimes I find by CD Writer can read the burned CDs but my laptop can't. Any ideas why this happens?

Both my laptop and desktop have a half decent spec.

Is your hardware ok (RAM, burner etc.)? Try to test that first. If yes, change the media.
