Replacing the video stream in VIDEO_TS.VOB ?

I was just wondering if it was possible to replace the video stream in the VIDEO_TS.VOB file ?

The problem I have is that I have produced a DVD using TMPGEnc DVD author and added a little preview window to the main track menu. Unfortunately I set the motion menu duration setting to around 110 seconds and the preview video I used was only around 30 seconds! The result is that the preview video plays fine for the first 30 seconds but the remainder of the 110 seconds is taken up with a blank preview window.

To make things worse I also deleted the TMPGEnc DVD author project file and don't really want to reproduce it.

I have extracted the MPEG stream from the VIDEO_TS.VOB file and cut it down to the required length, I just wondered if it was now possible to replace whats in the VOB now with this new mpeg stream.

I did have a play with Ifoedit with some minor success however the new menu did not play correctly and DVDShrink would not read the DVD properly. I guess there must be more to it than simply replacing the video stream, I guess you must have to do some work on the relevant .IFO files as well.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

maybe you could just use this guide with your project and fit it to your needs..

You can use MenuEdit to replace the cell with the new stream, but it has to be made into a vob file first. You can use IfoEdit to make the vob. Goto Dimads webpage to see the directions. home.html
