I have recently been encoding the South Park episodes and ran into a slight problem. In seasons 2 and 3 at the beginning of the episodes it has Tray Parker and Matt Stone giving short introductions into the episodes. The problem I ran into is that these short sections are normal 30fps while the show itself requires IVTC to look correct. Unfortunately because the show needs this, the whole encode is done with IVTC enabled, making the beginning part look horrible. Is there any way to do some kind of variable framerates using DIVX to fix this problem?
You have a typical quot;hybridquot; -- video sequences shot at 29.97, and film sequences telecined to 29.97. Because these sequences are separated, your best solution would be to re-rip those without the quot;offendingquot; chapters. Those can be ripped separately.
There are other solutions, but they are compromises. See for more details. |
