how do i play back ifo parsed dvd?
I use dvd decrypter ifo parsing mode to rip dvds to my harddrive usually for encoding purposes. I like to leave out extra streams and stuff so it won't take up as much space. I wan't to know how to play back the ripped movies as if they were playing off the original disc in something like power dvd. I know i could make an iso image of the entire dvd and mount it on a virtual drive, but that would waste space. Is there a tool I can use to make ifo files that will allow seemless playback or do I need to rip it another way? Once again, I only want the main movie on my harddrive, the menus and extra stuff can be left.
power dvd 4 can m-a-take a dvd (i think) as long as you have the correct ifo amp; vob files, since i'd never really got it to work, i can't be of much help; but if you have power dvd 4, just read the help guide on what to do.
dvd decrypter does copy over an ifo file but when I try to open it with powerdvd it is not recognized.
that was the same thing i got, oh well. english/c...rodId=1amp;ID=616
ok, thanks. maybe there is a different way i can rip it. I can load all the vobs into a playlist but then there is a pause b/w them. Come to think of it i could always just rip the vobs to one huge file instead of having decrypter split them every 1048MB. It shouldn't matter because xp supports big files.
The IFO file wont help you as you've used IFO parsing. Like you say, just rip it to one file and it will be fine.
Note:
XP doesn't supports big files as such, it's the NTFS file system that does. So when in XP, make sure you rip to an NTFS partition.
Also ripped DVD using IFO parsing, could not play with Power DVD XP.
Corrected this by using IfoEdit to create new IFO file for VOBS
and now plays fine.
How exactly do you do this? I have IfoEdit but I don't know how to use it.
Used version 0.95. Just start prog. Select button quot;Create IFOsquot; at bottom. Under quot;1st VOB of Title-Setquot; select your first VOB file then
tick Same as source for the destination of your new IFO file. Click
OK and that's it.
BTW this also solved the problem I had with having no audio on a
movie I ripped in IFO parsing mode + DVD Decrypter 3.1.5.0.
I was unable to get PowerDVD to find any audio tracks on my movie
until I created a new IFO file for it? |
