demux to m2v and ac3

hi to all,

is there any software to demux to separate files the streams of a DVD, just like DVD decrypter does with IFO mode

thanks in advance

You could try the quot;File Modequot; of my ReJig program ( demux/rip from the HardDrive.

-Nic

i tried vstrip but i don't know how to handle streams to get them in separate files

i tried the vstrip guide in 's guides area but ...

also the smartripper have the same problem as dvddecrypter

quot;also the smartripper have the same problem as dvddecrypterquot;
?? What problem is that ?

Did you try ReJig in IFO Mode or File Mode?

-Nic

well the movie is 2001:Space Odyssey

first of all i must report that i rip the movie to iso file in hard disk with dvddecrypter (v3.1.9.0) and open it with deamon tools.

then open the virtual DVD with dvddecrypter, IFO mode stream processing, and it reports the movie time length, as i can recall, about 2:20:10.

when i check the video and audio to demux, check demux radio button, in separate files, m2v and ac3, the produced m2v has shorter time than the first reported and the ac3 has the right time

and when i choose raw mode, choose the raw radio button, the produced
m2v file has the right time and the ac3 file has wrongthanks in advance

p.s.
i don't want to rip the movie 2 times to get the right files
i will try with Rejig when i get back home

So rip m2v in raw and ac3 in demux?!

@Nic
either rejig worked !!!

@LIGHTNING UK!
yes that is what i'm doing
but why it happens...
don't want to fix it ?

Have you tried working(compiling) with the original files, before trying to correct the vid? Im guessing that your first m2v's timestamp was about 5-10 seconds off. If so no need to get worked up cause it'll work fine in the end.
.
I've had this problem many times and if I tried to correct the m2v's gop to match up with aud I ended up with a sync problem.
.
This has happend to me using at least 5 different programs. I don't think decrypter can fix it cause it doesn't happen with every movie, just some funny ones.
.
.
My 2 cents.

dont want to fix?

Course I'd fix it, if I actually thought it was possible.
I'm just ripping the m2v packets from the sectors of the disc. If it works for one, it should work for all so I can only guess there is something in the m2v file itself (or in the algorithm used for importing) that gives it the incorrect time.

Of course if you can demux in other programs and get the correct length, I'll need you to find out where the differences lie!

well i'm back after some troubles i had with my account in forum

i tried demux many movies

well here how you can get exactly the same video length in m2v format and sound length in ac3 format !!!

for DVDDecrypter (i tried it with all 3.1.x.x versions of this software)
choose demux RAW for video stream and normal demux for sound stream
you will get two files with original time length !!!

@LIGHTNING UK!
i don't know other programs doing RAW demuxing, do you ???
i would be happy, like many guys as  i read in forum, if you could fix this problem

thanks a lot

When you say that the quot;video has not the right timequot;, how do you verify this? That is, what program did you use to get the duration of the demuxed M2V? Note, on some DVDs, the time code in the M2V is reset to 00:00:00:00 at the layer break. When you import such an M2V into Maestro for instance, it will actually parse the file only up to this time-wrap and indeed give you a too short video. Maybe the quotatch M2V timecodequot; option in DVDDecrypter can fix this.

I'm surprised that your RAW demuxed M2V is usable at all. What authoring program accepts such thing? According to Lightning, RAW includes VOB headers and stuff so it's more like a VOB containing only the selected stream and should cause any authoring program to reject it.

i'm playing the m2v, via ffdshow, with the media player classic or MSMediaPlayer
both reports the wrong time length
also i'm using Directshowsource(file.m2v) it also reports wrong time length

QUOTE]Maybe the quotatch M2V timecodequot; option in DVDDecrypter can fix this.[/QUOTE]
i have used this option but no difference !!!

i don't want to import files to some DVD Autor software
i only frame serve to TMPGEnc, with AVISynth

thanks a lot for your time to solve my problem

TMPGenc using the MPG tool will de-mux a vob for you.
Works a treat.

you will tho, when you want to open the file, go down to quot;all-filesquot; as its not actually in list.

But it works mate.

As i have mentioned before in some other posts i have the same problems on some DVD's. The time code isnt correct..

Dvddecryptor 3.1.9 says that the film's (shreck) mpeg2 elemntary stream is 1hour:26mins long. I use demux mode and the file i get as a result looks ok, i can play it through til the end with end creds.. But all 3 players (Moonlight, Windvd and classic mediaplayer 6.XX (gabest's) says the total time is around 50mins.... ?? Ive turned off patch time code in the settings and it helps some movies's timecode... but not most..
Yesterday i took the same quot;timecode erroredquot; .m2v file into Mainconcepts  Encoder 1.4.1 and did a slight transcode.. And it finished after a while... but it seems that the file is to short.. it ends just around 55mins or so.. (in the origional movie timeline that is..) so it obviously mistankinly uses the defekt timecode...
Anyone have any idea what i can do to rectify this? plz enlighten me..
