I know, that i'm a newbie, but we all were. Can somebody exlain me, what is OGM amp; Matroska; what are they for and how should i use them?
Please use Search button and read sticky threads, it's all there...
Both are containers just like avi, but better, more versatile.
Difference:
OGM is already out for a while, giving good results.
Matroska is not out yet (1. March), so it has to show up if it is as good as the programmers promise.
So Stay tuned!

Okay, then the question is: I use a VDubMod. I load a avi file without any audio. Then i want to attach 2 audio tracks, and put it in OGM container. So i select OGM-gt;Show inputs, and add 2 tracks: one AC3 and one - VBR MP3. In AVI menu i set audio1-gt; no audio; audio2-gt; no audio. I simply want VDubMod to add these two tracks while saving a container. After i press quot;Save as OGMquot;, VDUBMod starts saving, and puts both audio files in one track. So when i start playing i hear 2 audio tracks at the same time. When i tried to set AVI-gt; Audio1-gt; AC3(with my first AC3 file) and added 2 more tracks via OGM-gt;Show inputs, after i saved ogm file, there were 3 tracks. But i coudn't disable one of them. How can i add 2 or 3 tracks to an OGM container using VDubMod, so that i can play them separately?
And the second question: can i add subtiters to OGM file using VDubMod, or should i use OggMux?
The problem is not with VDubMod, but with the OggSplitter. When playing an OGM-File, you can access the properties of the OggSplitter (you could also do it with GraphEdit). If you open them, I think you'll find that quot;Enable all streamsquot; is checked. Uncheck this box and restart your player. Seems like you're using Windows Media Player or something like that. Of course that's O.K., but if you to use a really comfortable player, use ZoomPlayer or MPC (Media Player Classic). That was just a hint.
Your other question: it's safe to insert subtitles and chapters with VDubMod. There seemed to be a problem, but that's fixed now.
Best regards,
JimiK
The problem is that Enable All Streams is disabled. But two sterams are always played, no matter how many tracks are muxed. In OggSplitter there are two dropdown lists called Sound. One of them has quot;1quot;, and the other - quot;2quot;,quot;3quot;,quot;4quot;, and so on. I cannot deselect quot;1quot; in the first dropdown list.
I'm using BSPlayeer. hat was the only player which didn't crash, when i played 2 track AVIs, i encoded (1st track - AC3, 2nd-VBR MP3). All other players (WMP9, WinDVD Platinum, ZOOMPlayer) crashed with an error in Morgan stream switcher.

If it is still installed on your system, remove it.
But how can i watch 2 audio AVIs then?
Damn! It doesn't work, no matter how hard i try. Again, here's my problem: I try to mux one DivX video and 2 and more sound tracks in one OGM container using VDub. When i put all my sound files via quot;Show inputsquot; window, and set Avi-gt; audio-gt; NoAudio and Avi-gt; audio2-gt; NoAudio, VDubMod starts Dubing, and shows in statistics window, that audio1 data = 0, audio2 data= n Mb - that is it's putting all the audio files in audio2 stream. After that, when i start playing the movie, OggSplitter menu appeares in the taskbar. There i can see 3 dropdown lists: Video, Sound and Sound. In video quot;0quot; is selected. In 1-st Sound dropdown list quot;1quot; is selected. In 2-nd Sound dropdown list quot;2quot; is selected, and quot;3quot;,quot;4quot;... is visible. quot;Enable all streamsquot; is disabled. So two tracks are always played back at a time, and i cannot disable track quot;1quot;, since it is alone in its list.
When i try to make an OGM container using Avi-gt; audio-gt; AC3; Avi-gt; audio2-gt; vbr MP3 (w/o using the quot;Show inputsquot; window) this problem happends again.
I tried several players, tried to reinstall filters. I even killed MMswitch. What seems to be the problem?
HEEEEEELP!
Install SubtitDS and use oggmux. After muxing, uninstall subtitds, and you're done. (I assume you prefer DvobSub for subtitle display.)

Dubbing information on streams added thanks to 'OGM -gt; Show inputs' are summed in the Audio2 fields of the dubbing window. This is normal.
The fact that you get many audio tracks playing at the same time is one of the problems that can happen with OggDS (the filter used to playback OGM files in DirectShow).

what does 'and 2 and more' mean? When i put all my sound files via quot;Show inputsquot; window, and set Avi-gt; audio-gt; NoAudio and Avi-gt; audio2-gt; NoAudio,
AFAIK the AVi menu is irrelevant when creating OGMsVDubMod starts Dubing, and shows in statistics window, that audio1 data = 0, audio2 data= n Mb - that is it's putting all the audio files in audio2 stream.
I know Suiryc has already clarified this, but perhaps you download graphedit and drop your media file into it so you can see, and get a feel for the filter chain that is used when playing back media files.i can see 3 dropdown lists: Video, Sound and Sound.
This is really strange. have you allready treid to un- and reinstall the ogg direct show filters? Which version of the filters do you use? When i try to make an OGM container using Avi-gt; audio-gt; AC3; Avi-gt; audio2-gt; vbr MP3 (w/o using the quot;Show inputsquot; window) this problem happends again.
This sounds strange. IMO you cannot creat and OGM container using the avi menu. Additionally, you mux vbr mp3 into an ogm. I am not 100% sure, but, IMO, this is likely to cause troubles.
I tried several players, tried to reinstall filters.
Ok. But try freshly downloaded filters. HEEEEEELP!
Chill! Please!
Lastly, please drop the relevant file into graphedit, arrange the boxes in a way so that, they are all visible in the program window, make screen shot and make it available for us by attaching it to your post. Please keep in mind that attachments are not visible immediately after uploading. They have to be manually approved by a mod.
And keep calm. But I probably said that already
The quot;1quot; track i cannot disable is AC3 track. When i dont mux AC3 track, all other tracks (MP3) can be selected normally, and only one is played at a time. It seems that there's a problem with AC3 muxing or decoding. I tried OggMux and VDubMod - all the same.
I use latest OGG DS filters from Doom9 site.
It is known issue. Try ZoomPlayer...
[EDIT]
As I had already pointed in my first reply, please use Search function, this topic had been already discussed...

hi Aboo
it seems, it just won't work. I tested it myself this afternoon and the ac3 track is automatically being connected to the sound output device.
try zoom player although I don't know how to configure it to play these files properly.
Yup, that's sad. All my rips are based on the DivX+Russian AC3+EnglishVBR MP3+ subtiters formula. It seems that i just have to wait for matroska (which is actually matrEshka - E sounds like something between quot;yoquot; and quot;equot; sounds )
Btw, sorry for my angry tone yesterday. I was posting that message late at night after 5 hours of f@#$ng with OGM Sorry to everyone!
Well, before giving up completely, you really should try zoom player. Yesterday I just droped my test file (one ac3 stream + 2 ogg streams + one subtitle stream) into it and it worked!! Before, I went to Player Options/Manual Filters/ and checked the 'disabled' field.
Now i can switch between the audio two ogg streams and the ac3 stream inside zoomplayer using zoom player's 'Audio Track' menu. Switching between the ogg streams works via zoom player's 'Language' menu or via the ogg-splitter-properties icon in the taskbar.
Try it, and, really think about dumping vbr mp3.
Yup, it works with ZoomPlayer. But it works 'cause ZP allows to select between Direct sound devices - the two streams are still played. So OGM is still buggy. |
