which softwear is best with xp only, experience, nothing, exactly

im geting there but can anyone tell me on experience on which is the best soft wear to use with winxp?,
and what exactly do i need to use to complete a sucsessfull burn.
i use nero but only get up to 10% then nothing just get frozen out.
