Matroska Chapter Problems

Hey guys, I have a chapter issue in matroska. This might have been solved but I havent found a thread about it after vigerous searching. When creating a matroska movie with chapters and it is split 2 two or more files, the chapters do not work in the 2nd file onwards, no matter which chapter you choose it goes back to the start of that particular file. This is using MPC latest and tried with built in splitter and external splitter using latest Matroska pack 1.0.1. I found a thread talking about this:

but it only addressed the subtitle issue, not the chapter issue, thanks guys any help would be appreciated.

Are you using mkvmerge to split the movie ?

yeah, mkvmerge with mmg GUI.

Its hard to reproduce this error here, but can you pls. try to make sure that 'dont link files' is ticked when muxing and splitting the movie ?

Yeah I didnt have don't link files checked, now chapters work fine. Thanks man.

... no, its a feature. If files are linked, they will behave like one big file, just splitted. Unfortunately, there is no player supporting file linking yet, thats why it will mess up chapter entries on normal players right now ....

well that's what i meant really (something wrong somewhere), it doesn't have to be matroska's fault, thanx for clearing it up
