Hi people,
i am (trying) to encode Ringu 0 (PAL) dvd with the best quality possible on 1 cd.
the audio is OGG @ 112 kbps (almost 68 MB)
and the video: with divx 5.03, Qpel only
the thing is, i cant get the filesize right, i think its because of the usage of quant=1, but im not sure.
the res is: 592x320 (Lancsoz)
the movie is 1 hour 38 minutes incl 4 mins of credits.
i used these 2 filters LumaFilter(-9,0.9) and UnFilter(-5,-5).
I did an manual comp test, and the result was 135% (!) si the size @ quant 2 should b something like 533 MB.
and i want the size to be 720 MB (XCD)
But when I use the N-th pass option, the movei becomes 940 MB or something.
The bitrate... I tried 1100, 1200, 1500, 1600, 1800, not a huge diffence.
can some1 help me?
P.S. sorry for the not so clear description, I will edit it l8r on, I gotta go now.
I would say that all you need is a good bitrate calculator
thanx for your reply.
I tried bitrate calculators, they dont work, not with DivX 5.03 Pro.
Isn't there one for the thing I want to do?
1h amp; 38m = 5,880 sec
720 MB = 754,974,720 bytes
So you have 128,397 bytes/sec or 1027 kbit/sec
Are you using this bitrate?
Your results are strange!
It worked now, it had something to do with the log file I guess. I almost got the same reults everytime. But now i encoded at 1050 kbps, and the file size is exact!
Thnx for your replies.
P.S. The comp. test is just for the resolution to be used? Because it was 135%.

Yes, comp.test take into account the resolution you are using... but 135% seems to me really high ( i think you are right, probably some quants=1 are used here, this thread can be an interesting reading: showthread.php?s=amp;threadid=46135 ... if you have not yet read it, of course ) |
