Alien Subtitles in Star Wars Movies
Anyone got any ideas how to get the Alien Subtiles to show up in Attack of the Clones, i have read other threads about this but they date back to last year. Wondered if there was any up to date ideas on it.Ripping in file mode with DVD Decrypter newest version selecting all files, and have tried it with instant copy and DVD95copy, and neither show the subtitles.
that's weird
they should be there, as they will just be English or not specified
what region is it?, I have R2 here so I can have a check if u want
My copy is region 2, I have tried every way I can think of but the only way I can get the forced subtitles to show is to turn on the normal subtitles either in the disc menu or player menu. I have tried it on three different players and all do the same, but this is no good as i have to put up with subtitles all through the film.I had the same problem with The Sum of all fears, and Born Identity.Any ideas what i have done wrong, or rather what i should be doing to get this right.I would be very grateful if you could check with yours for me and let me know how you did it.
Hi,
i've the same problem with quot;Sum of all fears (RC2)quot;. I've ripped the whole disc in quot;File-Modequot; with DVDDecryptor. Then I re-encoded it with DVDShrink 1.03. I kept all audio and subs.
When playing the original DVD, the SAP shows me the for the german audio track the appendant subtitle (in this case it's sub #9), for the english audio track, the player shows me the subtitle #8. Those subtitles only translate the russian language into german/english.
Now, from the backup-DVD, i have to select the subtitle myself, they are not selected automatically.
How can I change that? And sorry for my english...
notorious
I have also had this problem with the bourne supremacy.
I used dvd decrypter to rip everything in file mode, then used Instant Copy 8 to burn the final version.
I left all the subtitle stuff in there, however I have the same problem. After it is burnt you don't see the russian subtitles when they are speaking in the car near the start. When I put the subtitles on the dvd player they work fine, but I don't want the subtitles all movie.
If anyone knows the reason for this, it would be great to know how to fix this ...
If I remember correctly I think its the use of quot;Remove IFO/BUP PUOsquot; or quot;VOB PUOsquot; thats causing the forced sups to not be forced. I don't remember exactly but I believe that was the problem. Turn those off in DVD Decrypter and try it again.
@dmagic
I'm sorry, but I can't imagine why this would cause such a problem.
Clearly, a SetSTN isn't being executed, or more likely a remapped subtitle stream has gotten itself out of order. Also possible is that a setting to ignore streams of insignificant size has been set, which has somehow not taken the quot;forcedquot; stream.
Regards
I used to have problems with one of my dvd players refusing to automatically show forced subtitles, but I devised a method to sort it out. I normally backup to movie-only but I have never had subtitle problems with full-disc backups. If you're backing up the full dvd, you might be suffering from a different problem. Try the following link on an RW then all it costs is your time of it fails; it works for me on the Star Wars dvd's and all others I've tried.

I do the same as Mickran, I only rip the main movie using DVD Shrink only and leave all 3 subtitle options in there. When I play back the movie on my dvd player I have to select subtitles 3 to see only the subtitles when they are speaking in Russian and not have subtitles all the way through the movie.
I had problems with some movies (Resident evil Apocolypes) that when I tried to copy them using dvd shrink 3.2 came up with an error message and that it couldn't analyse the disk content and so couldn't copy the disk. I came to realise that there are some blank movie sections added to the start of these movies which stop any kind of copying and made an error appear.
My way around this was to use an earlier version of DVD shrink 1.03 which doesn't analyse the disk to start with but allows you to re-author the disk first. Which I did, and selected the re-author button, selected the main movie but then selected the crop tool. I then clicked next chapter to jump from the start of the blank clip to chapter 2 within the film. I then pressed the rewind button (not chapter back key) to go back to where the actual movie starts cutting out these blank clips which cause the errors. I then continued as normal to copy the movie without any errors. |
