Kiss DP-500 ethernet question
Greeting from Spain.
I have the DP-500 manual. I read it the ethernet connection over a switch/hub. Is possible to connect the player at my computer without hub?.
PD: I don' want a Internet connection for the Kiss player, only to browse on the HDD.
Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
If the computer has an ethernet card, you can use a crossover cable to connect with the player.
You need to setup a DHCP server on the PC to give the KiSS player a Ip address. Don't know where to find such a server atleast not a free one, then you need as mensioned a crossover cable. Finally you must have an IP address on the PC matching the one on the DVD player combined with the netmask. Do you know what I mean?

Windows XP has a build in DHCP server (at least the pro version does). If you have network setup in XP you should be able to plug it in with a crossover cable and have it work.

Does the player not have a configurable IP?
Another question:
Kiss dvd player contains Toshiba dvd-rom units. Is this model capable to read 90 and 100 minutes cd's? (my Toshiba SM-1502 don't!)
The only way to set an IP for the KiSS player is by using DHCP.
I got it to work with a crossover cable and the freeware dhcp turbo:
