seeking in mpeg file takes 20 seconds

hi all, when i create an mpeg file through tmpg using default quot;VideoCD 1246kbps (NTSC).mcfquot; settings, and i seek to the 10 minute mark or somewhere, it takes a minute before it starts playing, like it's scanning through whole file (no I frames?) how do i fix this?

Apparently, this is how TMPG works so you cannot really fix it. It would be great if someone found a workaround for this.

Sometimes when I need to cut an MPEG file, I use TMPG DVD Author to create a VOB out of the portion I want to cut out - it doesn't waste any time on searching through the file. Then I remux the VOB into MPEG using TMPG mpeg tools.
