Hi,
I have a problem which is very annoying. I have ripped a movie and the followed the instructions to encode the movie from your site to DivX. I want to keep the original AC3 track from the DVD, hece I am muxing the ripped avi with the ac3 track. However, the movie plays in only two players, that is Intervideo WinDVD and BSPlayer. It frames in Windows Media Player where the sound is moving faster than the picture and that is the same case in DivX Player. I have tried using both Avi-Mux and Nandub with different options of interleaving, however, the issue persists. If however, I transcode the AC3 track to mp3 and then mux it, the movie plays fine in all the software players withput any issues. But AC3 is not muxing properly.
Please help.
Thx,
Aquarius.
Valid Interleaving/Preload settings: 96ms
Use VirtualDubMod for muxing.
I think there may be a more complete answer.
First, see the AC3 Qamp;A Sticky in the Audio Encoding forum, particularly Questions 7 and 8. Along with that document, you may find the Audio FAQ can be helpful as well.
Gknot uses Nandub for muxing, which works, but has been known to have occaisonal trouble, particularly with AC3 soundtracks. VdubMod or, as the Qamp;A recommends, AviMux, might alleviate the trouble. In addition, as Awatef alluded to, some interleaving values may cause trouble with Nandub and AC3 soundtracks. See the FAQ and Qamp;A for more info.
hi,
I tried both the suggestions and have also done the steps using Graphedit but am unable to locate the problem. I tried the interleave settings mentioned by Awatef in both Avi-mux and Vdubmod with the same results. Here's what happens with the following software players in my comp.
WMP- Movie stutters;sound plays faster than the video
BSplayer- I could not make out any noticeable difference in it. The movie playts fine. When I right clicked and clicked on the video information option, under Jitter it showed 2 frames. (I don't know if this is imp.)
Intervideo WinDVD- movie plays without problems.
DivX player- video plays fine, but the sound runs ahead too fast and the sound is distorted now (like when there is no signal on TV, like a Hzzzzz sound which covers the audio).
I would really appreciate further information as I have exhausted all options.
Thx in advance,
Aquarius
