avi

hi!

i converted an avi (divx/mp3) to a svcd. the avi has a duration of about 21 min. but the mpg-movie only has a lenght of about 16 min.
WHY??? - is it normal?
the only thing that isn't as always is when i import the avi, it says quot; The original video framerate of 24.999 is not supported. The framerate will be adjusted!quot; but: to wich framerate it will be adjusted?

Hmmm.
Presumably the file is PAL and should be 25.000 fps.
Try adjusting the framerate in VirtualDub and see if this helps. Although it may cause audio desync I cannot see that a change of 0.001 fps over a 20 minute clip will be noticeable.

It should, however make the file usable with DVD2SVCD.

i changed the framerate with VDmod to 25 but this still doesn't help. the only thing changed was that the encoding doesn't take about 4 hours but only 2 hours. but the video is still 5 minutes shorter.

[edit]... it's allright; the only thing is windvd just shows a false time. i watched it now with powerdvd, there were all the encoded videos the right time. it seems that windvd has a bug or something. also the files wich i encoded with 24.999 fps have the right lenght. thx for you help; [edit]
