Ookami's comment really made me think about my past contributions to this forum, and so I searched up some of my very first posts when the switch to vB was made.
And I have to say, I was, in general, a conceited person with some very serious issues expressing myself in a tone that did not belittle other people.
So, if you were one of those people I lit up, so very long ago, I apologize, and if you ever find yourself at some sort of convention with me, get me to buy you a beer.
Hopefully I've come of the age that I can properly express any tidbits of knowledge I have without making anyone else feel silly. In the case that I don't do that though, feel free to remind me.

Did you just start an analysis or what ? I personally never found your posts to be that rude. Very strange to feel the need to publicly apologize for quot;long time gonequot; facts.
You should never dig up the past, really I sure would not do it (but give me your shrink adress, in case )

What, mellowing out in your old age, int 21h? Feeling a bit guilty over past indiscretions? I've noticed a welcome improvement in the tone of your posts over time. You're a valuable fellow to have around here, and nowadays you're even more valuable (because you're friendlier). This is not meant to sound the least bit condescending. I've looked up to you since my earliest days here, and now even more.

I've been mulling around the idea of suggesting a Doom9 convention of sorts..... ok, really it would be an excuse to buy a few kegs and get some hotel rooms, but we could call it a convention. There's lots of practical hurdles to overcome, like the fact that we're all in so many far away places. But the sad fact of the matter is that some of us have been talking to each other on this board (vB and ezBoard) for close to 3 or 4 years... its time to have a get together!
I may not be concerned as I am not one of the quot;wise eldersquot; here, but do you really think meeting people you'be been knowing in a forum is a good thing ?
I mean, if these people are ladies (please let the green-eyed brunettes come), OK, but otherwise, we all know people tend to be quite different in real life than what they appear in digital world. Did you try this before (I mean, not the brunettes, but meeting people from forums) ? I'm afraid once people get out of the DOom9 environment, they don't have much to say to each other on other subjects for they don't know each other on any other subject but DOom9 related stuff...
What do you think about this highly sociological reflexion that is starting to gic me a headache ? (OK, the beer party is enough in itself to motivate a meeting, that's true

int21h, without you the board would miss one of the senior-senior members (you was an senior member when I came from Flexion to Doom9's to start my multi-boarding of english boards). Altough, in the starters of VBB I didn't knew you were the one who you are, grin (again, a new nick).
BTW, what was this convention about? Erm, sadly, many of us are in very different parts of the world... I even payed for one of those quot;Rippertreffenquot; on Ultimate Board, but couldn't go to it because I was moving into my new flat . This was the last of these meetings. We should also pay Swan and Chibi Jasmin etc. for the trip so we have at least some video-woman in our company ;-) . Would alcohol be allowed? I count beer as food ;-) . Not to mention when I would see how certain people look, mostly you imagine people in the exact opposite way...
And it was prohibited to trade CDs and talk about ripping stuff (IIRC, that is), so it has been probably quite interesting.
BTW, int21h, is there anyone here who knows all your user names? I know only 3-4 .

However, this is my only handle that is active nowadays. I retired from that other place and its things a couple of months ago.
If we met in the US, we could talk about whatever we wanted, but we would need to observe all applicable copyright laws...

Remind me to start a similar thread one day, once i can lean back and dont have to advertise our stuff any longer ... ....
And yes, i am all for a meeting in Germany as koepi suggests, it fine for the guys flying in from France and UK ( thanks to Ryan Air and Go! ) and we can also organize some cheap hotels i'd hope ... alternatively we all could visit Blacksun in his little appartment in France now ...
To organize a convention someone should start a new thread, else people think they have to apologize for something before they can join in...
