Titelpicture

when I am trying to make a SVCD with titelpicture using DVD2SVCD then BBmpeg crasches at start an give me an exitcode 3221225614.
If I skip the titelpic it works.
But I realy want to have my titelpic. Is ther any other way to avoid this problem?Andreas

WooWoo! Well you are today's winner of the quot;no useful information  and lazy postquot; award. I say that with some degree of smile (not much)

How about you trying again after you read the quot; How to make a good postquot; sticky? I promise we will really try to help you if you do.

Version of Avisynth? Version of DVD2SVCD? Source? etc.,etc.,etc.

Sorry about my lazy post. But it is always fun to win an award.
My OS is XP pro
My PC: 1.7 ghz celeron, 512 ddram, 120 gb HD in 3 partitions. (I installd dvd2svcd on the third)
My curent version of dvd2svcd is 1.1.3 build 1 with avisynth 208 and bbMPEG ver. 1.24 b 18 (semiCLI 1.0.0.2).
The titelpic used to work erlier when I used dvd2svcd ver. 1.0.7. And I have tried to use the old ver. again but with the same result as with the newer.
The only way I can get it to work is if I after bbMPEG crashes reinstall dvd2svcd and start from mixing and cutting with crash recovery.
I have tried to use both the original titelpic and and one i´ve selected of my own.
I dont have any log to post right now as I dont use titelpic  at the moment. But if needed I can post a log in about 8 hurs.

Once again sorry about the bad post!

Hehe, sure is nice to meet a guy/person with a good sense of humor

One thing I would ask is you attemp to play the titlepic.mpv from your working directory directly after you have the problem. It is odd that it fails on first mux then completes on recovery. Also, is there a particular reason you use 2.08? If not, you might want to uninstall and reinstall with 2.51 as it is faster and I have tested that setup the most and could better help you.

Hey, remember to just pick one or two chapters in the dropdown in the conversion tab. Then it will not take 8 hours

Funny u mension that beacause when I just choose a capter or 2 it works, but not with a whole movie. But I am converting a movie rigth now an will send a log in the morning. So if someone could check it out and find the problem I sure will be happy.

About the avisynt, Ive read that the 2.5 is buggy. But if u say that it works fine I will try. But isnt ther something I have to change in frameserver tab after changing avisynt?

exuse the language but I´m from Sweden

But isnt ther something I have to change in frameserver tab after changing avisynt?

When changing avisynth versions you should only do a full de-install then an install with the latest DVD2SVCD version unless you are very experienced. That is because, during the install, you will choose whether to install avisynth 2.08 or 2.51. DVD2SVCD then sets the paths for some utilities, among them the BMPLoader used for TitlePic conversion, to specific directories with the correct versions of the utilities for that specific version of avisynth . That's why I want you to do it exactly this way so we know those paths are set correctly.

If you still have problems after that, we will know where to start from.

BTW, Avisynth 2.51 is fine.exuse the language but I´m from Sweden

Ah, we will not hold that against you, even if DVD2SVCD is a Dane. We all know Sweden has the better sports teams, right, DVD2SVCD? lol

You are quite funny
Thanks for the advise, I will cut my conversion and reinstall dvd2svcd with avisynt 2.5 right now and create a new svcd over night. And then if there still are probs with my titelpic, I will send the log.

I did as you advised me to and uninstalled avisynt 208 and dvd2svcd and reinstalled it with avisynt 2.5
Still I get the same result: when using titelpic bbMPEG crashes at startup.
Here comes my logfile and after the log I paste my dvd2svcd konfiguration

Here is an interesting part of the microsoft crashreport.

Unable to allocate memory for bitstream files......
Unable to open files for writing.......
Unable to read from files.....
Unable to open files for reading....
Unable toallocate memory for queue_buffer.....

Any idea?

I hate to do this to you, but we need to quot;certifyquot; your machine at this stage. If we don't we could be chasing our tails forever.

Prime 95: (run torture test for at least an hour)
freesoft.htm
Memtest: (run until complete)

I have never used thoose programs.
Do u want to shortly explain?
Will they give a log to send?

Well I think they are self-explanatory, but I'll try to give some more info.

The Prime95 torture test will check your machine for computational error. I don't think it will show anything negative in your case but it is always my starting point as I have spent countless hours researching problems and then found it came down to computational errors. Just because your machine does not crash does not mean it is quot;certifiedquot; with video software. Programs such as AviSynth 2.5x, besweet, and CCE cause computational stress that is above and beyond the normal for a PC. Everybody that uses these applications should always do this test once before reporting an error on this board. Most don't but it is good practice and can save a lot of useless messages.

MemTest produces a dos disk that you boot your machine from. It automatically does special and in depth testing of memory. Many people have bad memory and do not know it as that bad memory only shows up in unusual circumstances, especially when you have 512 or more. As an example, a few weeks ago I was installing XP and kept getting an error about a failure to read the installation disk. Since my XP disk was a backup I just thought that was the problem. Much later and after beating my head against the wall multiple times I found one of my 3 sticks of Crucial 256 memory was bad and causing the error even though I had used this machine for months without a problem. Video encoding uses memory in an intensive fashion so I want to rule this out.

Long and short of this is just do it once so I will be happy helper  Also, see this thread for some more background: showthread.ph...hlight=memtest

Sure, this may be a waste of time regarding this problem but it absolutely needs to be done anyway so you might as well do it to rule out the potential of this causing a problem. Also, DVD2SVCD suggested you do it also (in a PM to me).

I ran prime95 for one hour without any errors or warnings. I know 1 hour isnt much but still...
About memtest, my floppy is fucked up but I downloaded the iso file for creating a boot cd. I opend the file in Nero and burnd it to a cd. But there is no booteble files just a copy of the isofile on my cd, and it wont work booting from.
Am I doing this wrong?
Please enlighting me
Im using nero or fireburner.

memtest/ try this one instead.
Me answering on how to create a bootable cdrom is too off topic here.

I´ve been running the other memtester you recomended now for a while without any errors. But to really be sure I would like to run memtest86.
I dont want to buy new cpu or ram till I´m sure either are the problem. The ones I have are brand new.
So please explain how to make a boot cd from mem86 iso file with nero.
Maby in a mail or in a new thread in the general forum. (if there are more dummies like me out there who want to know)
If u do please send the adress to that thread.

Ive tried to increase the amount of viritual memory to 1Gb for every partition. That should be enough? But that didnt help either.
As u figured I really like my titelpic and wont give it up just yet.

By the way I´m still proud of getting an award in my first post ever sent to the forum

Would it matter if I am running dvd2svcd on a harddrive with NTFS or FAT32?
My current is NTFS
