No stats files from nandub after OS reinstall

Hi!

I just reinstalled my OS. Before reinstalling I have done about 300 rips with NanDub. so I'm no newbie (-gt; German translation of NanDub guide by me...)

But no matter what settings I try, NanDub won't produce any stats files during first pass any more...???

Regardless if spawned via GKnot, or manually in NanDub...

Instead (if I don't check quot;No AVI outputquot;, which wasn't necessary before) a AVI file with the highest bitrate is produced in the output dir...?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Cradle

Hi!

If i remember correctly (long time ago  ) you have to set the target filename for the stats-file in Video -gt; SBC-options -gt; SBC Settings -gt; Bitrate curve in field quot;Collect inquot;. In the second pass you need to enter the filename in quot;Encode usingquot;. I think your Nandub simply don't know where to generate that file

Hi!

Thanks, but that field get's overwritte by what you chose as filename for the statsfile if you press F8 (or select First Pass from file menu). I also verified it ried now (since I'm pretty desperate)...

XVid encoding works as usual...

AFter reading some other posts (been away for a while...) I also fiddled around with the DivX 3 and 5 direct show filters, but no success (I actually patched the DivX 3 filter with Tsunami's instructions, and it is the filter used for playback on DivX 3 files although DivX 5 is installed)...

For some reason NanDub doesn't seem to be able to use the DivX 3 filter... it always writes uncompressed output in a temp file in the NanDub directory...!

No ideas any more...???

Have you *REALLY* DivX 3.11alpha installed and not only the DirectShow filter for playback?
As for DivX 5.xxx: I've once used it for short and it screwed up my whole system. Till now i will never again let this s*cker touch my system

This is from the original Readme from Nando:

INSTALL  DivX 3.11alpha  and/or  MPEG4v2

Now I searched all my HDDs ( 6 HDDs) for all files of DivX 3.11 codec, unregistered the one that was currently used, deleted any DivX311 files found, rebooted, did a complete new install (but patched the decoder first, for higher merit), and now it works...

And I also know why: I simply registered DivX3.11 with ZoomPlayer's filter registry feature after my OS reinstall, but that feature only registers the playback filters...

Thanks for pointing me into the right direction. It never crossed my mind that I did not install all needed files...

So now I can happily encode those 14 DVDs that rest on my HDDs...

Bye,
