New tool out! CloneDVD.net !!!
A new tool is out... the publisher don't is Elby, the famous CloneCD author.
anyone try it ?
Hmmmmm - this is a bit strange somehow... seems to be a true quot;one-click solutionquot; with almost no settings to adjust... and look at this strange quote which I copied from the FAQ on their web page:
Does CloneDVD support DVD-5, DVD-10, DVD-9 and DVD-18 DVD movie?
CloneDVD support DVD-5(SS-SL or Single Side Single Layer, 4.7 G) and DVD-10(DS-SL or Double Side Single Layer, 9.7G), but currently version does not support DVD-9(SS-DL or Single Side Double Layer, 8.5G) and DVD-18(DS-DL or Double Side Double Layer, 17G) (will available soon).
No support for DVD-9?????
regs,
G.
Humm I think that I refer about DVD-R to burn, don't DVD to copy!
No, they're talking about the source, the only thing available for burning is DVD-5. And I agree, it's strange since dual layer disks (DVD-9) only require more compression or stripping, whereas dual sided disks (DVD-10, DVD-18) require enormous changes to structure (ifo files). Does this mean it creates its own ifo's, but has difficulty with the layer break?
edit: What about the elusive DVD-14? (single layer on one side, dual layer on the other)
Another thread about this is showthread.php?s=amp;threadid=50841

i think the dvd-10 support is limited to burning to 2 dvd-r
(no, thats not a joke)
So there is nothing new. And, as the other thread says, copying a DVD-5 needs nothing more than DVDDecrypter, or SmartRipper and your favorite burning soft.
Until this product does something along the lines of the others, transcoding, recompressing, whatever, it is not going to be treated as anything other than an expensive copying program
I guess the name says it all, it can clone, provided you can find suitable recording media. I have a program for cloning HDs, only works if the geometry is identical, same story.
lock this thread as obviously so and so didn't search prior to posting.
Good idea. |
