apex 1500 does not play raw mpeg2, need help
Recently i was looking over the specs of my apex 1500 and i found out that is supports MPEG1/2 ISO (accroding to HERE
What is MPEG1/2 ISO in the DVD Players list?
MPEG1/2 ISO is if your standalone DVD Player supports MPEG1(VCD), MPEG2(SVCD,DVD) or/and VOB(DVD) files with no authoring, like you are able to select any MPG/MPEG/MPV/VOB files from the CD/DVD using a file browser and play them.
Anyways i took a normal vcd release and used vcdgear, burned it as data on a cd popped it in the player got quot;No DISCquot; so i tried 3 others movies and same thing. Any idea why or am i doing this wrong?
Maybe exact nero settings.
First try here Magic place.
The problem i believe is that apex have issues with vcd's as they dont own the rights to play them ??, so they have removed it from the firmware of the new ones. if it doesnt say it on the box then you wil lneed to upgrade the firmware.

my friend has the same dvd player(apex 1500) as you do, and they never seem to have any problem playing vcds that i burned, but then again, i never burn them as data.
I would be rather cautious with the quot;specsquot; being published at vcdhelp/dvdrhelp - while being valuable, they are unverified user reports and do contain some erroneous information.
What sort of ISO9660 flavour does the player accept in MP3 mode? Maybe try to use some variation, i.e. ISO level 1 (8.3 filenames), level 2 (31 characters), Joliet on/off ... |
