for 124min(1cd) movie wich resize filter?
i encoded mummy returns in soft bicubic(1cd rip) but gknot recomended me neutral bicubic.......have i done wrong for the quality
the bitrate is 720kbps
IS IT WORTH TO USE A NEUTRAL OR EVEN SHARP BICUBIC for this low bitrate???
and the res is 528 x 224
ANY TIPS ARE WELCOME FOR THIS TIME LENGHT (low noise, temp smoth......)THANKS
for 1CD rips better use biliear resize
can't say anything about filters cause i always go for 2Cds
but i would try first with no filters at all
Divx4 is known to blur things a bit. So I always go with sharp bicubic. I already tried neutral bicubic, but didn't like the outcome.
So, IMHO, please don't use bilinear because then the movie will get a lot more blurier.
In regarding the resolution, try a comp check and see what it says.
the only real recommendation i can give is to try the full range of resize filters and see which suits you best. everyones viewing set up is quite different as well as there eyes (which are very different )
I`ll try the neutral coz soft is kind a blur, is it my eyes....
thanks for the replys
I think the selection is good, soft bicubic could be a good choice with such a long movie, and this resolution.
My personal advice is to go with neutral bicubic (the difference between neutral and soft bicubic is more noticeable than neutral - sharp) and go with more resolution and use a Temporal Smoother 2, before resizing(edit in Gknot the little noise option and change TempSmoother(2,1) with TempSmoother(2).
Something like 576x* with TempSmoother(2), maybe 608x* TempSmoother(2).
If you follow my advice please comment your results. |
