Yes I know it's a silly question to ask, but could someone who does a lot of encoding please tell me which DivX codec they're using.
Would it be best to stick with good old DivX3.11 in G-Knot or should I move on to DivX5.01 in VDub.
The comparsisson between codecs on this site didn't include DivX5.01 so it wasn't really helpfull to me.

The new Codec comparison
Yup thx. I read it and it seems to indicate that 3.11 is yet the best
I've tried 3.11, 4.12, and 5.01 and I got to say that I seem to get higher bitrates and smaller file sizes with 5.01. You may be able to tell the difference with a frame by frame check but I bet you would be hard pressed to see much of a difference while watching the movie. I stick to 5.01 now with GKnot.

Hi,
Mac I agree. DivX 5.01 gives me the best results....I'm using it for now...at least until Xvid has b-frame support and looks better...
