Stripping audio from AVI ??

I'm currently using Studio 9 (from pinnacle) to do my NLE of DV-tapes, but im rather dissapointed about the output from Studio.
Using DVD output (to disc or file) or doing an MPEG file for later processing in Nero Vision Express etc. seems to be of poor quality.

I acutally got better result transfering the edited movie back to DV-tape and transferring it to VHS-tape (analog) than I get by processing it to DVD.

In order to get better result, I will now try to use Studio to output an DV-compressed AVI file, and process that in TMPGEnc.
I would like to process the audio seperatly (to 2.1 AC3), but Studio cannot save audio to seperate file, which is a shame. 8At least not while using DV-encoder output which i belives gives me best quality)

Do any of you know of an easy way to strip the audio of an DV-compressed AVI file, leaving me with an NO-sound AVI file, and a WAV file with the audio ??

Thanks in advance!

try avimux

I tought AviMUX was only for combining an WAV and a video_only AVI to ONE file.....

Can you use it to split an AVI into seperate video/audio files too ?

Havent tried it, but If you say so, I will :-)

i think i remember it can extract audio

also you can try virtualdubmod, it can save stream and remove streams (so first save the audio stream and then remove it and save the video [which is the only thing left])
