I am trying to backup my City Of God so I won't have to sit through all those intros. I used 2Cool's guide about passing unwanted titles. Then one where you go pre-commands + post-commands. In that thread I read that if you do that to all the pgcs in the .ifo, you don't need the unwanted vobs. The problem is that after doing that, everything works it seems. I use dvd-rebuilder on it and then make an image to burn to a dvd. I used daemon tools to mount to test before burning and everything seems to work, but after burning my drives can't even read the dvd anymore. I tried searching on the forums, but I guess I don't know exactly what to search for. Is there something I did wrong? Just confused because the image works fine, but dvd can't be read. It's not my burners fault either, tested my Angel dvds to get past intros with same method and that works after burning. Any help would be appreciated.
Try this:
1. Keep the bypassed VOBs just to preserve the original structure. Burn on RW and see what happens.
2. If that works, instead of deleting try to blank out the VOBs using TitleSetBlanker (see Download page). If it still works after burning now, leave it like this. Otherwise, there must be something else in these VOBs besides the unwanted trailers.
usually if there is an authoring error the discs can still be read, so in what way did u mean this? can u see the files on the disc with explorer/my computer? if not i guess u got a bad disc.
Drives won't even read the discs so no data is seen. Not bad discs either because I tried on 3 of them and tested a 4th on a different DVD movie which worked. Ridata 4x DVD-Rs. I'm about to try the TitleSetBlanker soon, if I can find the link. I was looking at VobBlank. Same thing?
sounds like some type of burning error to me still m8, try burning with a different program at a slower speed and see if that helps. even if the dvd was authored badly the files would still show up fine and the problem would occur when trying to play the dvd. |
