Invalid Floating Point Operation (revisited)

I am converting from DVD to VCD with permanent subtitles ... from vob's already ripped to my harddrive (using SmartRipper)

below is the end of the DVD2SVCD log showing where the error occurs (TMPGenc phase of the process).Audio conversion finished.

EInvalidOp Invalid floating point operation

some history ...
1)  i used DVD2SVCD successfully for at least a year
2)  few weeks ago, i noticed subtitles not getting encoded with TMPGenc (used independently of DVD2SVCD to permanently add subtitles to AVI files)
3)  i uninstalled DVD2SVCD, Frameserver, and a bunch of other video software components
4)  TMPGenc permanent encoding of subtitles (from AVI files) works (independent of DVD2SVCD) again
4)  i installed DVD2SVCD, Frameserver and AVISynth, AC3Encoder, others ...
6)  i tried DVD2SVCD again, and received error above

... can someone 'reach through 10,000 miles' and help me with this?  ... i've uninstalled and reinstalled DVD2SVCD several times to no avail ... i use DVD2SVCD 'virgin' with exception of selecting subtitles.

thx all

got the hint from Q23: RMS800 - quot;DVD2SVCD crashes every time I run it with a 'Invalid floating point operation' error. System is P3-800 w/ 128MB, WinMEquot; ...
installed Avisynth 2.08 instead of 2.52 and the problem has gone away.

keep searching and the answer is out there somewhere.
