I recently captured the Avril Lavigne video quot;Happy Endingquot;. I encoded the file to an .OGM using xvid as the video codec of choice. However I noticed that the station [VH1] cut out the word shit in the video. I have the CD version of the song that I thought I could mux in instead of the original. Of course the time was different by about 4 sec. I tried compressing the time of the cd version to the same time as the video in abobe audition but the audio still drifts out of synch, tried delaying the audio as well with no success, has any one tried this before and been successful???
Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum, thought this as good a place as any.
A million thanks in advace for any thoughts at all
Well, you can use the good old method of trial and error, but.. it's very easy to calculate (if the speed of the video was constant):
take the sample of audio somewhere in the beginning of the song in both captured and cd versions;now select the waves through the same sample (not by number, and by visual look) in both versions somewhere in the end;compare the lengths of the selections in the following way:
k = (captured/cd) * 100
and finally stretch the cd track by the ratio of k
Hope everything's right
Setting up a delay shouldn't be a big problem. Good luck |
