Psytel AAC-encoder won't eat 5.1 wav-file

I have created a single wav-file with the 5 channels and LFE in it.
I made one with both HeadAC3he and BeSweet1.3RC

But the aac encoder just won't accept the file; it gives the following error:

ERROR[-1]: EncodeInit() error!

Has anybody a suggestion how to get this thing working?

Thanx in advance.

Very strange....after I had installed winamp 2.80 the aac-encoder finally accepted my 4-channel and 6-channel wav-files. Has this anything to do with the installation of winamp?

But anyway...a new problem has come up :-)

In win2k I can play the 6-channel files with winamp. Only the output is not really 5.1, because win2k doesn't allow that with the soundblaster-drivers.

So I use win98 to get surround sound...but when I try to play the 6-channel file in winamp it refuses to play. It says that it does not support 6-channel 16 bit audio. 4-channel audio files works though.

Has anybody have an idea how to fix this problem in win98?
