If I have an original VCD and want to backup it, do I need to do some sort of decrypting process (like when ripping a DVD)or I can just ask my CD Burner to make a copy of it ?
Just do a CD copy with your authoring software.
CAUTION: Don't copy the CD to hardisk and try to burn a CD as a Data CD with the directory sturcture. There's a Copy CD option in most of the authoring tools. Use that.

When i make backups of silver VCD's i always copy them to my hard drive and run through VCD Gear to convert the dat file to mpeg. You only want to copy the dat file(s) from quot;mpegavquot;. If you want you can then load them into virtual dub and convert to divx or use MyFlix 3.02 to edit them. Burn onto CD using Nero witht he Video Cd option.
Hope this helps
I find the easiest and quickest method is to image with cdrwin, and burn the image. |
