level 2 , 1 or 2 Mb vs processor speed difference, processor, producing, download

I am getting a lap top …I must able to write a 4 GB DVD ( DVD writer ) or transfer 1 hr min DV tape to laptop , 2) while being able to download e mails and 3) work on a word document, all these 3 functions at the same time ( without the laptop getting hanged )How much difference in performance between the 2 in terms of not hanging and producing lousier quality pictures ( DV editing )

1)..Acer 4001 lmI with a) L2 1 MB cache , b) amp; 64 Mb 9700 ATI card , 1.5 centrino

2)or HP nx 7010 ..with a) L2 , 2MB cache  amp; b) 64  ATI 9200 card c) 1.6 centrino  Both machines on 512 Mb RAM,

3)Do you agree  that a) toshiba amp; NEC laptops with Clear super view( CSV) screens with integrated graphics card tend to lose out in movies to machines with b) normal Non CSV screens but 64 Mb dedicated graphics cards ( all level 2 , 1 Mb cache ).
C) for all I do above ..a) machines lose out to b) machines ? ?Should work out I think. Just get the one with dedicated memory for the gfx chip.
