MPEG Audio to AC3 with BeSweet?

Can anyone help me with this?  I'm converting 44.1Khz .MPA files to 48Khz 2.0 surround encoded AC3 (SVCD to DVD).  I do it now by converting to .WAV and 48Khz with Winamp and then reencoding with SoftEncode.  But this is really a slow process, and I have a lot of SVCDs I'd like to convert.

I tried using BeSweet to go from MPA to AC3 (with and without AC3Machine).  It appears to work -- but the resulting .AC3 file doesn't playback.  I tried to check it out with SoftEncode -- and it hung on the file.

Can BeSweet do this conversion?

No one has done this?

Damn.

There are some things mixed up here, as far as I know. First I wouldn't bother Winamp to decode .mpa. Second, yes BeSweet can transcode MPEG audio. Transcoding to AC3 requires the one of the latest betas of version 1.4. The stable BeSweet 1.3 doesn't support AC3 encoding.

BUT: As far as I know ssrc.dll that is used by BeSweet is not able to upsample audio, it just can downsample. That means: 48000 -gt; 44100 Hz is possible but not the other way round.

I'd recommend the very complicated procedure:

1. MPA -gt; WAV (44.1 kHz) in BeSweet,

2. WAV (44.1 kHz) -gt; WAV (48 kHz) with Ssrc.

3. WAV (48 kHz) -gt; AC3 in BeSweet again.

Or you ask Dg when it will be possible to do upsampling...

This is bloody complicated I know, but should still be quite fast compared to SoftEncode.

Sh**!

I just read in the BeSweet FAQ in this forum, that stereo 2.0 AC3 output is broken, and Dg is away for a month! So this is really bad news. Sorry for that...

Thanks for the help anyway.  I'm just glad to know it isn't me.  I'd tried every possible command line option to try and make this work.
