Not another interlaced question!!
yes...another. I did a search, but found nothing that helped me
I have a video, 4:3 29.997fps, NTSC, and Interlaced...
in GKnot, i go frame by frame through the movie and find that 2 out of every 5 frames is interlaced (well they have lines going through them) and the other 3 are clear. My question is this...do I knock my fps down to 24 and do IVTC? or is there a better option for me at this point.?
Thanks
2 out of 5 interlaced = Telecined. See synch.htm for details.
If DVD2AVI shows Interlaced/NTSC, then do not use Force FILM to inverse telecine; the mpeg2 stream does not carry the correct telecine information.
Use the IVTC in Gknot, which at 0.26 uses the Decomb filter suite, using the Telecide and Decimate filters. If you need to make adjustments to the filter settings, you'll find information in your Gknot ..\Docs folder. Remember to either manually adjust the bitrate to 23.976 in the bitrate tab, or check the quot;IVTC in avs -gt; correct frame countquot; box in the encoding step. I find it easier to do it on the bitrate tab -- since I'd have to remember to check the box each and every time I run an encode job. |
