cannot start graph problems, because, cannot, master

i am using flyvideo 3000 to capture with the intention of making vcds/svcds. i use virtual vcr to capture because i find i have no a/v sync problems when i set audio to be the master stream. the problem i do have is when i capture in yuy2 and use huffyuv compression i get quot;error: cannot start graphquot;. this doesn't happen if i use rgb with huffyuv or yuy2 uncompressed. does anyone know how to fix this?
