Description of .idx ?

Hi!

I'm using AutoGK to create XviDs from my DVDs, which again uses VobSub to create the subtitle files (.sub/.idx). I'm not quite happy with the outcome of the subs each time, and would like to change things like position and size by editing the .idx file.

Anyone know where I can find a proper description of all the parameters that can be used in the .idx and what values I can use for them  The comments in the file itself only states what the parameters already present do, in a very short way, and does not say anything about valid values.
I have played around with 'org:' and 'scale:', but I would like a more elegant way of, for instance, putting the subtitle on the very bottom of the picture with an easy alignment parameter. The way I do it now, I have to adjust the 'org:' for every movie idenpendently (it differs from movie to movie), and if I change 'scale:', the 'org:' values gives totally different results.

Also, the value I need to use for 'org:' changes whether I'm playing the movie with or without padding (black areas above and below the picture, to be able to place subs in the black area below if it's a letterbox movie). I always play them with padding, but if I'm burning the XviD files to a DVD and want to play them elsewhere, the player might not support the same features, and the subs will show up below the picture  If anyone got a link to a proper discription of the file format and calid parameters/values, that would be great
