azid: why is dpl default for stereo output and not dpl2 ??

Hi,

azid 1.9 supports dpl and dpl2. but why is dpl default for stereo downmix - i thought dpl2 is backward compatibel with dpl ?

are there significant differences, when encoding a dpl or a dpl2 downmix from 5.1 ac3 in mp3 and listening with stereo equipment ? can a better actual soundcard (i.e. nforce2 chipset) a dpl2 upmix ?
