Do you think it's time for a DV forum? I have started a poll on the quot;Capturing Videoquot; forum, and 48 votes agreed with me it would be a good idea (1 voted quot;Noquot;).
Is that enough? Or do we need more votes?
bb
hmm.. didn't even get the poll but then again capturing is not my primary interest. Anyway I think that's sufficient.. we've started new forums with less votes than that. One thing.. possible moderators? New forums need special care in the beginning
you got it now..start posting. and we need a moderator
Thank you very much! I feel like there are quite a few people out there who will appreciate the new forum.
Regarding the mod: what's necessary to do the job?
bb
bb: be willing to uphold law and order (forum rules in the forum and do your best helping people out.
I mean: Do I need to be online every day, more than once a day, or is it sufficient if you need to be absent sometimes for a few days or so?
Do I need to know certain quirks about the moderator-only options of the forum?
I would do the job, but I don't want to be blamed if do not fully qualify as a moderator, thats why I'm asking...
bb
well.. the more you can be here the better.. atm it's not a lot of work but in the beginning it's important that people get help when they ask or they will look for another place.. then after enough people have discovered the forum things get better. maybe you would know a collaborator that could help you. so if you have no objections I will send you the moderator rules to sign and then you'll be a moderator
No objections.
bb
This sounds like a great idea. One of my primary uses for my DVD burner is to archive stuff from DV tapes. Not just home movies, I also like archiving favorite TV shows using my DV camera as an analog to digital converter.
