Guide: DVD-9 to DVD-5 quot;Full Copyquot; Revision
Doom9 is supposed to have a copy of it up on the Doom9 site at some point as well. Please follow the new instructions. I am taking the quot;guidequot; post that I made off of quot;stickyquot; status to try to keep people from following more complicated instructions.
Keep up the good work
..Might I suggest that you actually create a PAL version of the guide, since this would be pretty easy for you, to select the relevant parts (i.e. no pulldown etc), and would avoid confusing PAL newbies?
Kind regards,Arky ;o)P.S. I'm interested in your thoughts on the following:

Good idea, Arky. Perhaps you could help me on that front though. I do not have any PAL DVD's or any PAL capable DVD players so anything I would do would be total guessing on my part with no way to verify anything.
oops! see my reply to the above thread /\ (regarding DV vs. DVD ripping)Arky ;o)
Hi i started following this guide for a PAL DVD succesfully and there are only a bit modifications i'll enlist:
1.- chapter xtractor fps 25 (automatic)
2.- subrip cropping step : 720*576 (instead of 720*480)/ spruce DVD maestro step: 25 fps
3.-NO pulldown.exe ( this is the big problem because i can't get 2 pulldown streams: output.m2v and output-drop.m2v and my subs are desync, out of time)Please help TRILIGHT or anybody experienced!!!
4.- Maestro/project properties/PAL option (NTSC is default)
And that's all, pretty easy, isn't it?

Hi
Finally i could get one DVD standalone functional movie (4.38 GB) with all menus and extras, audio and subs perfectly on sync, it's really amazing and i followed the TRILIGHT+DVD2SVCD RoBa OPTION.
I must say i encoded a PAL movie CALIGULA R2(7.4 GB), and i only changed the parameters mentioned above. I didn't make the two streams process (pulldown)trick because it's PAL and my subs are on sync only importing the .son file in MAESTRO, i hope this works for all PAL movies.
Try it!!!
Note: With this method i only had problems with a multi PGC movie, but that's very documented around here. |
