CVD subtitles *are* there but sometimes disappear!
Hi!
I have noticed this problem since Winsubmux is used :
Sometimes CVD subtitles stop appearing on my TV (during 5 to 20 sec), then they show up again. So I fast reward, play the *same* sequence again, and subtitles are there! ? ?
I went back using dos submux : no problem.
I can cope with the white lines bug (only from time to time on my DVD player). But I would like to use 3 subtitles and with submux I face the bug of subtitle staying on the screen until the next one (I know this is going to be solved in next release, thanx DVD2SVCD!)
I read very few threads about this issue, without any solution proposed.
Is it my Bluesky DVD reader (retailer brand = no clue about what's inside) that cannot cope with subtitles overhead?
Any idea is welcome...
i have the same problem but the other way around if i use dos version , they desapier , and then if i pres subtitle botton they come back. i found this not a bug of d2s or submux or winsubmux but a quot; bug quot; with the player because the same cd played in diferent times have diferent behaviour while playing the subs . if i use win version i get better results. player jocel mp3000 ( same as atta mp3000, and yelo )
That damn DVD Player!
You must be 100% right. It's a quot;bugquot; in the player.
I have notice that when I press subtitles, it takes a while before my player actually changes it. So it is quot;weakquot; with subtitles handling.
Lucky you Winsubmux is your option!
There's on last thing I have to try : SVCD subs with Winsubmux (I may be lucky?).
Thanx for your post anyway : I feel less alone now
Cheers.
you might be lucky with svcd subs, who knows
Excellent news!
I have re-encoded the exact same movie (anniversary party) with D2S and different parameters : I don't have the disappearing subs problem anymore! Maybe you want to try if you have the same pb.
BEFORE :
- 1 audio track 160kbps-stereo-48khz.
- 2 subtitles.
==gt; subtitles *are* there, and disappear from time to time
AFTER :
- 2 audio tracks, both 128kbps-stereo-44.1khz.
- 1 subtitle.
==gt; no subtitles problem, even if this is some kind of quot;XSVCDquot; because total bitrate is 30kbps higher than standard.
CONCLUSION :
I have being so lucky my Bluesky DVD player has been playing smoothly every VCD/SVCD/KVCD, etc, I have been testing so far.
So I am still wondering (hopping ) if this quot;disappearing subsquot; problem could be a bug with Winsubmux. Anyway, I'm happy...
Hi Guys!
I had the same problem in DAEWOO DVG-3000N. I have re-encoded the exact same movie (COLLATERAL DAMAGE) with D2S and different parameters (audio and subtitles). I'd like to make SVCD's with two subtitles and 2 audio streams and I'd like to have full control and no play errors.
Graal_CPM found a solution but don't useful for me because I need two subtitles streams. Maybe you want two or more subtitles too.
The results of my tests show that the last subtitle stream work perfectly. But it does not mean Graal_CPM solution is wrong. It's right! The last stream always appear.
Winsubmux or sobmux problem? No. I use I-Author too and continue same problem. Firmware bug? Who know?
Well, I decide leave one stream empty. So selected Portuguese to subtitle stream #0, stream #1 was empty and selected English to stream #2. And... Full operational!!!
If you don't deleted any files and don't want waste more time, how to select streams after initiate the conversion? Edit quot;dvd2svcd subtitles file.iniquot;. Change the keys quot;Selectedquot; and quot;OutputIDquot; for each quot;[SUBTITLESx]quot; section, where quot;xquot; is the desired language.
Good Luck!
Hi Naoenxeosaco,
So you've got the solution!
I too like to have several subtitles (French and English in my case, a good way for me to improve my English )
So of I use subs tracks : #0-French #1-(leave it empty) #2-English, it may work on my DVD Player!!
I should try and post (hopfully) positive results.
